About Terry Reid

A triumph…Terry Reid’s voice has the power to provoke an intense reaction…’"– The Times

"…Astonishing by any standards: spine tingles, hair prickles on back of the neck…’ – The Independent

Terry Reid, ‘Superlungs’ as he’s affectionately known, is without doubt one of the greatest rock/soul voices this country has ever produced or is indeed likely to. A Terry Reid concert should be a cherished memory for any self-respecting fan of the greats of British music. Terry turned down the front man’s job with Led Zeppelin, recommending his mate Robert Plant instead, a similar offer and rebuff to Deep Purple. Aretha Franklin’s stated that The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Terry Reid were the best England had to offer in 1968. He underwent two World Tours with The Rolling Stones, US tours with Cream, UK tours with Jethro Tull and Fleetwood Mac, The Isle of White Festival in 1969 and Glastonbury in 1970, played at Mick Jagger’s wedding, before soured record deals resulted in Terry leaving Britain for America nearly 40 years ago. All true, but the full story includes numerous collaborations with Graham Nash, covers of Reid songs by Marianne Faithfull, The Hollies, The Raconteurs (the hugely popular ‘Rich Kid Blues’), film soundtracks, including a song in George Clooney’s recent film ‘Up In The Air’, and a catalogue of 6 studio albums, including the seminal album ‘The River’, re-released to critical acclaim in 2002 and the 1976 Nash produced ‘Seed of Memory’. A Reid song ‘Horses Through a Rainstorm’ also features on CSN’s box set. There is an undeniable resurgence in recognition for this outstanding vocalist and songwriter and 2018 looks set to be another successful year!

And Friends: Two months ago, Terry Reid shared the Roxy stage with Slash, Johnny Depp, Robin Zander, Chris Robinson and many others, celebrating the release of his collaboration with Aerosmith's, Joe Perry, "I'll Do Happiness." One month ago, Reid joined the Stone Temple Pilots at Rhythm, Wine, and Brews. Saturday, April 7th, on the Big Rock Stage, Reid will be joined by yet another phenomenal crew on the Big Rock stage. Phil Jones on drums: Jones toured with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers from 1980 through 1984. He is credited on 16 of the 48 tracks on the new Tom Petty Live Anthology collection, and in the studio, appearing on Hard Promises, Long After Dark, Live, and Wildflowers. Phil also played nearly all the drums and percussion on Tom's most successful studio album, Full Moon Fever. He is the drummer and percussionist on Freefallin', I Won't Back Down, and Runnin' Down A Dream. Jim Wilson on bass: Wilson is a founding member of the blues rock trio, Mother Superior, and has worked with Lemmy, Queens of the Stone Age, Alice Cooper, Meat Loaf, Emmylou Harris, Anthrax, Wayne Kramer, George Clinton, Iggy Pop and Grammy winning producer, Daniel Lanois. Robert Davis will join on guitar: Davis was part of the1970s glam rock band, Mud. He is also a Novello and Grammy Award winning songwriter for Kylie Minogue and has worked with Daniel Lanois.

About Great White

Changes? Yeah, they’ve had ‘em. Fallen off the path? Guilty. Slowed down? No way. Never.

Best known for their Grammy nominated Best Hard Rock Performance hit, “Once Bitten, Twice Shy,” Great White has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, has six Top 100 Billboard hits, nine Top 200 Billboard albums, two platinum albums, and clocked the top of MTV video four times. Page 3 of 3 To experience their hits live in concert—“Rock Me,” “Mista Bone,” “Save Your Love,” “House of Broken Love,” and “Lady Red Light”—is to ride an emotional wave of sultry connections, arousing lyrics, and an all-out marathon of hard-hitting orchestrations.

Great White continues to tour worldwide and in the last two years logged nearly 200 dates in several states and countries. The band celebrated numerous milestones that included several sold-out performances, a return to the Zurich, Switzerland’s Rock Im Tal Festival, and for the first time ever, a handful of intimate, acoustic performances.

Great White is Kendall (guitar), Lardie (guitar, keyboards), Desbrow (drums), Snyder (bass), and Ilous (vocals). Since 1982, the Great White sound has captivated audiences worldwide with crushing blues-based guitar riffs and swagger that invokes an emotional high for anyone that listens. The band’s core writing team of Lardie and Kendall forged numerous hits over the years, and when Desbrow joined in ’85, the grooves hooked an amazing stride. For nearly a decade, Snyder has merged his unforgiving rhythm to Desbrow’s relentless percussion. And, in 2011, Ilous’ feverish energy and far-stretching vocals melted perfectly into the Great White mold. Kendall calls Ilous “the most consistent singer I’ve ever shared the stage with and a great all-around musician.”

“Great White is fueled by performing live – we love that energy that you can’t find in the studio,” Lardie said. “But, when you do get us working on a new record, there’s a bond that is forged – it’s almost like alchemy…it’s years of stories, heartache, momentum and love that we put to track.”
